Vision Express is the third largest optical retailer in the UK and part of GrandVision, the global optical retailer. They first opened their doors in Newcastle in 1988, and since then have gone from strength to strength, driven by a commitment to unparalleled customer service and providing the best personalised optical care, style and quality.
We brought Vision Express into the BFI family in 2006, and have established a fantastic client-agency relationship over a decade of working in collaboration, alongside numerous Vision Express stakeholders.
When Vision Express first approached us, they wanted to take their first steps online. In the ten years since that first project, we’ve provided the skills and guidance to mature and expand their external and internal digital presence from the ground up, building a complex online infrastructure, with constant bi-directional dataflow to streamline business practices and bring up-to-the-minute information to customers and employees alike.
We’ve built and maintained a vast network of interconnected Vision Express digital products, for both internal and external use. As well as the customer-facing website, which has grown organically over the years to bring a rich feature-set and usable experience to customers, we’ve also built numerous internal apps to digitise previously manual processes, saving on resource and maximising revenue. Our carefully crafted solutions are flexible and scalable, ensuring our delivery of new functionality is always swift, robust and efficient – the BFI way.
Vision Express identified a need for improved appointment capabilities, bringing their diverse audience a great user experience, and allowing seamless transfer of data from online booking straight to store diaries via API. We delivered a simple, usable frontend interface facilitating straightforward and fuss-free booking with minimum user effort, for maximum conversions. All underpinned by a robust booking framework with multiple layers of redundancy, and linked to customers’ personal Vision Express accounts.
View the ResultWith over 600 stores nationwide, Vision Express’ customers rely on the availability of a comprehensive, easily searchable store locator. We delivered a straightforward store search, with clear results and integration of location services on mobile devices. As each store is unique, a ‘one size fits all’ approach wasn’t ideal for the presentation of search results – so we developed a highly tailored and customisable overview, which can be easily adjusted in-house via CMS according to each store’s individual requirements.
View the ResultWe were recently tasked with an overhaul of the Vision Express careers and recruitment satellite site, which had become quite dated. The comprehensive rebuild incorporates smooth animation, lifestyle photography, video content and focus on social and storytelling to encourage meaningful user engagement, as well as realigning the brand itself. The careers website is also fully integrated with Vision Express’ internal HR and recruitment software, to facilitate seamless, stress-free user journeys and maximum applicant conversions.
