Orian provide tailored cleaning, catering and facilities management solutions to businesses, schools and organisations throughout the North of England. With head offices based in Carlisle and offices across the North, Orian is the provider of choice for catering, school meals catering, cleaning, specialist cleaning and safety services.
We originally met Orian after being invited to tender for a new web-based School Meals system and website. We missed out on winning the initial business and the project went to another agency. A year or so later, we received a call from Orian asking us if we’d be in a position to take over supporting and further developing the system, as they were dissatisfied with the results. Of course we would!
Orian needed a comprehensive, user-friendly and accessible way to manage pupil meals across hundreds of schools, allowing parents to quickly and easily place orders and top up their accounts.
We worked with Orian to completely overhaul their suite of digital products and services, as well as completely redesigning the flagship Orian website (and that of their sister company, Cumbria Waste) to better reflect the energetic and expert nature of the brand. This ambitious roll-out was a sweeping success, serving to increase engagement and conversions across the board, and Orian were extremely happy with the results. We now continue to work with Orian on a program of maintenance and continuous improvement, as well as SEO.
In order to improve their school meals offering to schools, parents and children, Orian realised that the way forward was a web-based system directly linked to each school. This would allow parents to pre-order their child’s school meals, ensuring nutritional requirements are met, and massively improving efficiency. The Lunch Shop system allows parents to choose meals, pay securely online (no forgotten dinner money!) and provide Orian’s catering staff with a daily meal summary, ensuring the right ingredients are sourced and minimising waste.
Start a ProjectWe were selected to deliver the redesign, build and implementation of the somewhat dated customer-facing Orian website. The comprehensive redesign and rebuild kicked off with a fun-packed UX (User Experience) workshop, allowing key Orian stakeholders the opportunity to have their voices heard and share their ideas and expertise. The end result was a fresh, clean, content-rich website, effortlessly managed by Orian staff and underpinned with our powerful and purpose-built WordPress CMS at its core, for maximum flexibility and extensbility.
View the ResultWe were asked to provide a new refreshed website design and replacement CMS website for Orian’s sister company, Cumbria Waste. Whilst the Cumbria Waste website wasn’t exactly rubbish (pun intended!), we all agreed it would benefit from an overdue clean and polish. We wanted to bring it up-to-date and offer a friendlier, more intuitive user experience. Enter BFI – and after an initial in-depth discovery meeting, we implemented a brand new set of visuals alongside our flexible and robust WordPress CMS solution. Client and customers alike were thrilled with the results.
View the ResultOne of the reasons we went with Orian was the school meals management system - while we already had our own payment system, the facility for children and their families to also choose meals in advance online was a huge bonus. Everyone really loves it - it’s so easy to use. All in all, we’ve seen increased meal numbers, improved service delivery and cost savings.
